World Sounding & Test Rocket Launches

From the end of 2000 until the Summer of 2001 Rocket Services has been working on what we believe is the most accurate and complete source of launch information for the entire world's sounding and test rockets.

The list has so far reached over 12,100 launches, with the earliest launches dating back to 1944!

We have concentrated on the accuracy of the information concerning the launches themselves: -

We continually check the accuracy of our data and find ourselves having to update it all the time. If you find something you think is wrong or think something is missing then please tell us. We also really like to hear from people who actually launched these rockets so if you feel like a chat or what to share some data with us, just drop us a line!

One issue that we will deal with eventually is the Meteorological Rocket Network, or MRN launches. We are privy to a vast list of the majority of these launches (over 36,500), and during the course of the creation of the sounding rocket lists we realised that many were already in the lists, but far more were not.
What we have decided to do is to omit the majority of MRN launches and either include them all in a future update, or create a new list especially for the MRN.
