Welcome to the Space Lists official website

If, like us, you are obsessed with rocket launches, and the history of all the world's rockets, then Space Lists and this website are for you!

What is Space Lists?

Space Lists is a series of journals published in the UK. It is the result of information gathered across 30 years on rockets and launches made throughout the world. Our data reaches back as far as the early pioneers of rocketry and we are constantly updating and refining our lists with new information.

It seems an endless task but the aim of Space Lists is to create the definitive and most accurate collection of rocket launches and space programmes publicly available.

Take a look at the different indexes in the frame above to see what has been published so far.

Space Lists was first published in 1998. We aim to produce up to 6 publications each year. Sometimes there are gaps around summer and winter due to other projects we have on the go at those times, so the 6 per year may not mean every two months. When longer periods of time between publication dates occur, a subscription still lasts for six months.

The majority of issues pool information from a wide variety of topics, such as launches of different types of rocket, space probes, manned projects, rocket-planes, or firings in various years. Eventually Space Lists will cover all the different rocket types and will form an authoritative history of launches and space projects.

Some issues have been designated as "specials" and may be a compilation of all the launches on a specific theme. For example in issue No13 we rather appropriately chose to detail major launch failures, and accompanied the lists with rare pictures of many of the failures and explosions.

Something we are proud of is the inclusion in each Space Lists issue of many rarely seen photos of the rockets, people, and events featured. At the moment all pictures are published in black and white to keep production costs down, but some day in the future we hope to publish in colour.
